Clinical Research Core Facility

Located in the East Carolina Heart Institute since 2014, the Clinical Research Core Facility was created over 15 years ago to provide research staff to assist investigators with starting and implementing clinical studies. By handling staff training and management, the service core facilitates research in a streamlined manner to meet investigators’ needs. We maintain a registry of volunteers eager to participate in studies and have the resources available to collect a multitude of specimens including blood, fat, and muscle.

Whether you have been conducting human subject research for years or have just started considering adding human subjects to your research, the Clinical Research Core Facility is here to help.

Core Rates

Our goal is to make it easier to get started on a project, maximize the resources available, and provide a fair and easy-to-use system to cover the cost of clinical supplies and services. For small scale projects, staff services are available at an hourly rate. Staff rates can also be calculated on a percent of effort for larger projects.
