Who We Are
The Clinical Research Core, located at the East Carolina Heart Institute since 2014, supports investigators by providing trained research staff to assist with the start-up, implementation, and closeout phases of clinical studies. We maintain a registry of volunteer participants and offer resources to collect specimens like blood, fat, and muscle. Whether you’re an experienced researcher or new to human subject research, we’re here to help streamline your study and reduce administrative burdens.

Core Rates
Our goal is to make it easier to get started on a project, maximize the resources available, and provide a fair and easy-to-use system to cover the cost of clinical supplies and services. For small scale projects, staff services are available at an hourly rate. Staff rates can also be calculated on a percent of effort for larger projects.
